To claim the name "Lutheran" is appropriation. Perhaps the ELCA organization can change its name to fit its new identity: "Evangelical Universalist Church of America" (EUCA).<br /><br />The ELCA at the 2019 convention has officially passed the Declaration of Inter-Religious Commitment.<br /><br />This amendment states that Jesus is not the only way to get to heaven.<br /><br />The sole objector to the proposed amendment speaks, but his proposal to eliminate the "other multiple paths besides Jesus" language was shot down. With this in mind, unity becomes impossible.
