It is Sunday morning.... it's party time!!

Sure those who make a big deal about contemporary Christian music are just reflecting a culture clash, a snob struggle, a difference in musical taste...  Everyone knows that people are drawn to contemporary Christian music for the lyrics and not for the beat or the sound.  Why, CCM is really not much different than the hymns in the hymnal except that they are contemporary.  Both do an equal job of communicating the Gospel...

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God!

HT to Pr Esget at Esgetology.... make sure you have a strong stomach to watch...

  2. Repetitive, boring, irrelevant. Usually, these are criticisms against the Liturgy.

But that's exactly how I would describe what's going on in this video.

Musically, it's weak. It doesn't rock - it's tired and droning.

It says nothing at all about Jesus - yes, His Name is mentioned, but nothing about what He's done or does.

I felt like I wasted nine minutes and fifty-eight seconds of my life (in vain, I watched the whole thing hoping it would provide SOMETHING). It was totally irrelevant and unhelpful to any of the successes or tragedies of my life - which is the self-described goal of those who purport this kind of "worship"...

Nope, it failed, It was really just boring and lame - I felt truly embarrassed for the people up on stage - and I don't even know them. I know that their intentions are good; it's very sad.

  3. Look the music might be a bit funky, repetitive etc. and no I could not make it thru 10 minutes.....

But at least none of the men were wearing a skirt like over at Promise Lutheran in Murrieta where the LCMS padre lost a bet on a football game in which he'd wagered he'd wear a skirt while he led church if he lost. And so last Sunday he did so and made the news papers doing it.............

  4. What a shame that Lutherans are engaged in this in the LCMS. We have seen this at LCMS youth conferences. What a shame.

  6. John, definitely unhelpful in the sccesses in my life, but I'd count this (and as you I watched the whole thing in hope...) as actually one more of the tragedies in my life.

Fr. Peters, the very worst problem with viewing this christian Pagan worship is the worst and scariest moments of our lives are the ones we can't get out of our heads....
