A few numbers and a thank you. . .
Since beginning this little enterprise some 16+ years ago, the readership has constantly surprised me. So far, since the blog began, some 17 million folks have tuned in, fewer in the beginning and it has grown. Every day some 6,000-10,000 people get on the blog for one post or another, some 60,000-100,000 monthly, and a million or so annually. Obviously, some days more than others and some posts are better than others. Some tune in and never come back. Most return with varying degrees of frequency. I deliberately have not monetized this blog though I have had tempting offers. It was never mean to bring in the cash. I like writing the blog posts. I enjoy reading and my head is filled with useless information and a few decent pastoral and meandering thoughts. Thank you for reading. If I offend or upset, I do apologize. If I get you thinking, I am glad because something got me thinking. If I repeat myself, well, I am getting old. LOL. Cut me some slack. Do I have familiar themes -- you betcha. Am I always right? Well, I think I am at the time I wrote it but I do change my mind and I have no guarantee of infallibility -- think what I could have accomplished if I had!!! I do not know how long I will keep this up or keep up the pace of posting but it is still going strong. And so am I. Thank you all. When I run into you and you mention the blog, it encourages me -- even when you think I got it wrong! I am humbled by your kindness -- like the guy I ran into in the Denver airport who said, Are you Pastoral Meanderings as if I were somebody important. Thank you, really, from the bottom of my heart. And God bless you all.

The Lord only knows how you manage to produce so many articles, but I have found each of them thoughtful, and delightful commentaries that cause the Christian reader to think. Many of the issues you have raised over the years need to be discussed. You present an open forum for not only Lutheran readers, but for Christians from other denominations as well. I look forward to reading your articles and exploring your insights daily. I also read a site called “The Jagged Word,” an interesting blog by Pastor Paul Koch which combines his thoughtful sermons and messages with commentary. He also receives contributions from Lutheran pastors like Joel Hess, and a few others. These are the main sites I read on a regular basis, but I also get emails of daily devotional from a site called “Knowing Jesus,” which is non denominational. Given the fact that there is so much fluff on the internet, it is important to pick and choose the best ones, as it helps us to grow in grace in our faith when we stay connected with other Christians. Thank you for sharing your insights with us for the past 16+ years. God bless you in your ministry, and may it continue into the future as the Lord wills. Soli Deo Gloria
