In case you did not know where Presiding Bishop Hanson stood...

LCNA (Lutherans Concerned of North America) is the GLABT organization that has pushed ELCA parishes to be open to gays (RIC) and helped to maneuver the stunning adoption of the GLABT agenda at the ELCA Churchwide Assembly a couple of years ago.  At the time, it was known that Bishop Emeritas was strongly in favor of the change and it was greatly suspected that Hanson was more than in the middle.  Now that the ELCA has passed all the GLABT agenda, Hanson can "come out" (so to speak) and formally support this organization and its agenda.

LCNA has announced that Presiding Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Mark S. Hanson will deliver the keynote address to the assembly, following the opening worship on Saturday, July 7, 2012.  This is the first time a presiding bishop of any denomination has delivered the keynote address at our assembly.

The primary purpose of LCNA is to call the entire church to be a visible proponent of justice for all gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people.

  1. The quote "helped to maneuver" says it all. An organization as much about manipulation, or more so, than the proclamation of Christ.

  2. (RIC) The Reconciled in Christ
designation is given to an ELCA
    parish which welcomes the possibility
of calling a gay pastor to be their
pastor. The laity were misled to
believe it was only about welcoming
    gay members into their parish.

  3. Bishop Hanson is a product of the
1960's. He prides himself as a
    Vietnam protester and civil rights
    activist. He simply believes that
gay rights are "civil rights" and
    he pushes for it. Unfortunately,
    Bishop Hanson is also antinomian
in his theology and totally disregards God's Will as expressed
on the pages of Holy Scripture.

Um, should sinners (as we all are) really be seeking justice?

I mean the church offers a lot better deal than justice (aka the pit of fire). It offers salvation by preaching the Word.

    I sure don't want justice.

  6. Mark Hanson was also president of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) from 2003 to 2010. Would it be fair to assume that the LWF shares the same agenda as the LCNA. If so, then why is the NALC petitioning to join the LWF?

  7. I am pretty sure the LWF has no formal opinion on the matter but I bet the European and North American members are pretty comfortable with the GLABT agenda.
