Another year of grace…

46 years ago today. . . on the hottest day in July on a Nebraska prairie in a rural Lutheran church, a pastor was made. . .  Most of the men in that picture are long gone to be with the Lord. . . some of us are still here. . . the good work is completed by God's grace and whatever was built upon the firm foundation of Jesus Christ, the chief cornerstone, remains.

Congratulations on this milestone. When a believer is called to serve as a pastor, it is a new way of life. So many lost and struggling people need the encouragement of a faithful pastor. Actually, there is no retirement age for one who is called. Once long ago, in my youth, I aspired to join the clergy, but it was not meant to be. But I found fulfillment in being a Christian, reading the word of God, and walking with the Lord. I think the Lord recognizes our talents better than we do, and if we listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, we wlll all find a place at the table. God bless you on this occasion. Soli Deo Gloria
