Funny. . . but not in a humorous way. . .

I have a blog acquaintance who was Lutheran (lay) but is now Orthodox.  As Advent approaches, he finds himself missing being Lutheran more than just about any other time of the year.  The Advent hymns beckon him back to his Lutheran roots.  Nothing like a "Lutheran" Advent exists in Orthodoxy (nor, it seems, in the rest of Western spirituality).  While he enters a season listening to Lutheran music for the season, I will acknowledge that I find this absolutely compelling.  An Orthodox listening to Lutheran music and a Lutheran listening to the music of the Divine Liturgy (Orthodox)... funny... not in a humorous way...

She is Divna Ljubojevic. A reknowned and famous singer within Orthodoxy, she has a voice that sounds divine.  Crank up the volume a bit, listen, if you are able, with your eyes and door closed....

Good music is good music regardless of ones religious identity.

That was really great, and very moving. Music like that speaks of a people who have known suffering.
