It did not begin with AI. When the day came that our courts decided, probably with public opinion on its side, that pornography was protected speech, the whole world changed. Indeed, we subjected a new generation of youth to a sexual maturity in which their desires were also shaped by pornography and often extreme violence and perverse pornographic images and videos. So it did not take long before AI offered the opportunity to expand what was possible and that included the use of images created of children. What we fail to realize is that even if no child is involved and the images and videos are entirely AI, these will effectively change the landscape even further and have a profound impact upon the maturing minds and desires of young people. Simply saying something is legal does not seem to be saying much but in a time when legality stands without morality to define what people see and how that influences desires, it is enough. Things are not going to get better. They assuredly will get worse. In the balance lies the development of healthy youth and the easy access and alluring temptation being provided them by new technology that blurs reality and erases boundary lines. What will we do as a society and what can we do as Christians within that society to protect our children and promote an honest and healthy environment for our kids? That ought to be the question before us. Not everything legal is moral. In this case it seems fairly obvious that what some have said is legal is extremely dangerous and evil. The use of AI in gaming as well as other entertainment platforms will only encourage its use and eventual acceptance in pornography. There has to be a way of limiting or identifying this menace.

“There has to be a way of limiting or identifying this menace.” What you have said cannot take place unless this society has the will and determination to protect children, and places their moral growth above the legal constraints of a judicial system gone awry. In the name of Constitutionally protected rights we Americans have painted ourselves into a corner. In addition to the rulings on AI generated pornography which you described, we see many negative examples where culpable and nefarious individual rights have been upheld.. Just yesterday on the news, a video was posted showing a city council meeting in Iowa. An invocation was said by a representative of a local Satanic group, opening with a prayer to “dark father “ and ending with “Hail Satan.” This is supposed to be America, a nation rooted in Judeo-Christian beliefs, and here we see how morally debased a country can become in less than a century. Being born in 1945, I grew up in an imperfect country, this is true, but the fall into wickedness became more pronounced year by year. We should note how the Bible, as God’s word, rightly points out and reveals the fruits of the Fall. From Romans 1: “professing to be wise, they became fools,”. “exchanged the truth for a lie,” and vs 24. “God also gave them up to uncleaness,” and vs 28, “and even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting.” But the Lord always gives us in His word a solution, as in Romans 12: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and perfect will of God.” How do we transform our minds while we are immersed in an immoral culture? How do we navigate? We cannot live as hermits or move to a desert island. Actually, even if we did these last two things, sin would follow us there as well. Spiritual warfare never stops while we wear this skin. But perhaps the AI and the internet, while being positive in many areas of life, have also brought sin along in ways we had never imagined. There is little censorship, and very limited desire to regulate content, hardly any protection afforded children short of removing all these devices. It might be that the end times, as sin “waxes worse and worse.” It is Scripture that reveals to us the past, and predicts the future as well. Lord, help us to be transformed by Your word, not be AI, as the days are evil. Soli Deo Gloria
