Pope Michael...

Watch this short documentary of a break off group of less than fifty people who elected a pope in opposition to the Pope John Paul II and now Benedict XVI.  It is an interesting story -- I am not commending this individual but, golly, it is fascinating...  Only in America...

The full documentary is available here...  Give yourself an hour or more... it is at least as interesting as the usual stuff on TV...

I just learned about this guy a couple of weeks ago when his "papal homily" on Sexagesima was recommended to me after downloading my own sermon on the Sunday. Truly bizarre, a little sad and pathetic and pointless. Thanks for posting a link to the documentary.

I found this to be extremely interesting. I watched the long video as well, and I'm not quite sure what to make of it all.

I was particularly interested in photographs that they showed of JPII and B16 receiving blessings from pagans. I have to agree that this causes me considerable disquiet. One the one hand we can look at this as simply accepting a gesture of good will, but it has a definite spiritual side which is completely unacceptable. I think I come down with the Kansas Pope at this point.

What an utter joke. This man is no more pope than you or I are.

Only in America? Actually, it's only in Rome.

The Catholic Church already has been reformed to the catholic church. That was called the Lutheran Reformation.

And there ain't no pope in it.

Perhaps this pope could set up an ordinariate for Anglicans similar to the Catholic ordinariate for Anglicans.
