Lutheran Church of Australia - Website against the Ordination of Women

I am happy to say that Pastors in the Lutheran Church of Australia opposed to the ordination of women are not sitting idly by.  Yes, it was a set back to the cause when the Rev. John Henderson (proponent of the ordination of women) was elected Bishop.  It was not unexpected that those supportive of this change would find means to advance their cause.  The Rev. James Winderlich was called and has accepted the call to be Principal of the Australian Lutheran College, a vantage point to further agitate for the ordination of women.  But those opposed are not simply wringing their hands.  They have put together an impressive web site to gather information and organize toward the impending battle soon to come.

You can visit that website here.

You can find the most extensive website of information on the ordination of women here.

There are some "big guns" involved in this struggle -- Dr. John Kleinig and Dr. Gregory Lockwood to name but two -- but this will be a major battle.  The April 2013 General Pastors’ Conference and Convention has placed women’s ordination on the LCA’s agenda during this synodical term.  Prior to this, the LCA’s Commission on Theology and Interchurch relations (CTICR) voted in 2000 that Scripture does not prohibit the ordination of women.  The parameters of this issue are not simply located in the ordination of women but in the approach to Scripture, the value and weight of unbroken tradition, and the way the LCA relates to other Lutheran bodies throughout the world.  Pray for our brothers and sisters down under.  Visit the web site.  Encourage them in this struggle to overturn modernism and its relativistic approach to Scripture and tradition.

While the Lutheran Church of Australia (LCA) is not listed as an LCMS "Partner Church" (i.e., a church body with whom the LCMS has full altar and pulpit fellowship), there exist levels of fellowship, which the Missouri Synod has with the LCA. For example, the LCMS World Mission has a partnership with the Lutheran Church of Australia in the Pitjantjatjara translation and literacy project. Also the Lutheran Church of Australia is an associate member of the International Lutheran Council, of which the LCMS is a member. (The Lutheran Church of Australia is also an associate member of the Lutheran World Federation.)

Now that the LCA pastors and congregations have had a 14-year history of accepting their Commission on Theology and Interchurch Relations (CTICR) decision that Scripture does not prohibit the ordination of women, the LCA liberal leadership is moving rapidly to establish the practice of ordaining pastrixes.

This probably will not affect the level of fellowship between the LCA and LCMS, because the LCMS, especially in the last few years, has actively promoted ecumenical or fellowship discussions with other Lufauxran church bodies (e.g., NALC, CORE, ACNA, EECMY, ECAC-CR, ECAC-SK) which do support pastrixes and no indications of abandoning their heterodox practice.

In fact, the LCMS Purple Palace adminstration has a secret partnership agreement with the EECMY, has announced formal fellowship discussions with the EECMY, and a LCMS-rostered pastor has been serving for the past four years as EECMY General Secretary, promoting their 15-year pastrix program.

The sin of Unionism bears it's fruit. The leaven of the sadducees puffs up the whole loaf. And yet the Lord may still bring it all back to himself. We've seen him do it even when we were disbelieving. Confound us Lord with your good favor and the gift of your steadfast Word.

I came across this blog recently. I'm a confessional Lutheran in Australia and am disappointed to see you commenting on matters that you really have no right too. Worry about your own church. This is not your 'battle'. God appoints our leaders through his people by the power of his Spirit. Ps Semmler was appointed by God and led with his humanness just as Ps John will. God will lead his church and protect his church and sometimes this will happen outside of the institution which our Lord may very well take away to teach us the importance of keeping his word.

I direct this at the Anonymous post on the 18th March 2014. This battle is in fact every Christians battle. Undergirding the issue of Womens Ordination is the approach to biblical interpretation and the regard for the Lutheran belief of biblical Innerancy.

All members of Christendom should stand firm against the assult that we see happening all over the world and in particular within the LCA and other denominations within Australia.

Biblical inerrancy!

Put on 21st Century spectacles and read your Bible. Name all those rotters who weren't misoynists, fascists, criminals, schizophrenics, liars and lechers. Just about every one of god's chosen people had a serious character flaw. This god loved criminals.

This is the ISIS manual wrought large. Gods golden haired boys were out committing genocide. The number one boy killed his brother and then created the worlds largest harem. Is this the basis of opposition against the ordination of women?

If Luther had had the guts to proclaim 'faith without reason is dead' we'd all be spared this nonsense. But he didn't and that's why the LCA needs a new reformation.

If you live in a free, pluralistic, democratic society you're obligated the let the member of a voluntary association have their say in how their organisation is run. Vote rigging by the clergy will not stand in the way of the people getting their way.

When did Yahweh last have something to say on the matter of equality of the sexes - or for that matter democracy, freedom of speech, equality, abolition of slavery, the rule of law, habeas corpus, the separation of powers ...? If it's longer than 10 years ago, ignore it. Yahweh's been asleep on the job for the last 3,000 years. His acolyte, Paul of Tarsus is an unreliable witness - a schizophrenic and a liar.

Anyone who believes that the bible is 'the divinely inspired, written and inerrant Word of the god Yahweh, and as the only infallible source and norm for all matters of faith, doctrine and life', either hasn't read the bible or wants their head read.

I am also a member of the LCA and very concerned about the gradual infiltration of LGBTI acceptance into even the LCA. I have noticed that at least a significant proportion of those supporting ordination of women are also supporters of LGBTI acceptance in the church. While the two issues are for me quite separate, it does seem that there is an agenda to use campaigning for womens ordination as a vehicle for pushing LGBTI acceptance. Should the LCA at some point cave in to effectively no longer regarding LGBTI as a sin needing to be repented of before one can be considered a Christian then I and my family will immediately throw our membership of the LCA on the rubbish tip and leave without looking back!!

Beware of the Greens if they get balance of power in Federal Parliament. They have launched their LGBTI Policy Package and it's confronting:
Tuesday, May 17, 2016
The Australian Greens will commit to $32 million full roll out of the Safe Schools program, removal of religious exemptions to federal anti-discrimination law and work to get PrEP listed on the pharmaceutical benefits scheme under a raft of measures included in the Greens' LGBTIQ policy, released today by sexuality spokesperson Senator Robert Simms and gender identity & intersex spokesperson Senator Janet Rice.

So under their proposed laws, it would no longer be possible for religious organisations to prevent LGBTI from penetrating their schools and even churches. Under the so called "Safe Schools Program" our innocent kids will be indoctrinated in school to "embrace" LGBTI and there will be nothing we can do about it. Don't be fooled, this together with so called 'Marriage Equality" is designed to finally enshrine LGBTI lifestyle and culture in our Education and Legal Systems as being not only "normal" but to teach our kids to embrace it and force society to accept it as such on pain of legal action if we object!! In addition, the taxpayer will subsidise PrEP to make it much cheaper for people indulging in risky sex to avoid the risk of contracting HIV.

Bishop Rimbo reportedly recently spoke at ACCEPTS (supportive of GLBTIQ members of the LCA) conference, held at Immanuel Lutheran College, Novar Gardens, South Australia.
Is the Australian Lutheran Church spiritually asleep or dead? It has apparently not only allowed this conference to take place on LCA property but has allowed a man who openly supports LGBTI lifestyle and culture and supports ordination of the same people to speak at the conference!

Rimbo is reported as saying that "There are very few references to homosexual behavior in the Bible; and no references to homosexuality. The Bible speaks nine times more frequently about how we relate to money than on how we relate to sexuality. As an issue or practice it was of minor concern."
That's simply not true, as a quick check of just one of a number of very specific scriptures reveals: Romans 1:18-32 "18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth [a]in unrighteousness, 19 because that which is known about God is evident [b]within them; for God made it evident to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 21 For even though they knew God, they did not [c]honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and [d]crawling creatures.
24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for [e]a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed [f]forever. Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is [g]unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing [h]indecent acts and receiving in [i]their own persons the due penalty of their error.
28 And just as they did not see fit [j]to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, 30 slanderers, [k]haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; 32 and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them."

Dear sir, you obviously wouldn't know Jesus as Lord and reject the Bible as the Word of God, so why this discussion should even concern you, is beyond me.
When you are a Christian and have at least a cursory understanding of the Living Word, then you may comment.
Until then, I humbly suggest you attend to your own business, sincerely, matthew morgan
