Looking back. . .

This meager enterprise began as a hobby, perhaps the chance to vent, and, just maybe, to address something with words semi-profound.  Of course, there has been more of the former than the latter.  I wish it were the other way around.

Some stats. . .
  • The average day between 1,000 and 1,500 people tune into the blog. . .
  • My big scores have been on topics like the shortage of organists (70,000 read that one) and first communion instruction (nearly 30,000 looked at that). . .
  • For 2017, some 10,000 folks found the Roman appointment of a pro-LBGTQ bishop interesting. . .
  • In June of 2016 2,500 people a day visited the blog -- a score not repeated since in a month. . .
  • More than 2 Million readers are from the USA but second on the list, and a surprise, are the 100K from Russia (then follows Canada and the UK and France. . . who knew so many folks in Russia and France were interested in a little Lutheran blog of dubious value!). . .
  • What I found most curious is that the majority of you use Chrome to find your way here, followed by Internet Explorer and Firefox. . .
  • Three times the number of visitors use a Windows platform as use an Apple one. . .
  • Most find me through Google but almost as many through Facebook (is someone posting my stuff there???). . .
  • I am heading in on 3 Million total readers (though only 226 now follow the blog). . .
Thanks for tuning in and I can promise you I have more rambling pastoral thoughts that will meander from my mind to the blog at some point in the next months and year. . . I cannot vouch for the depth of the thinking or the wisdom, but it has and continues to be a fun hobby.  God bless you and have a great New Year.

Congratulations on an excellent job blogging the good confession!
BTW, can you calibrate your "I am not a robot" to not be so rigorous, demanding, and difficult?

You are very humble, brother, but the fact is this is the best Lutheran blog around. Your insights are very uplifting and the content of your articles force each of us to think and reflect on the issues affecting our faith and Christianity today. Thank you for your ministry as a pastor and writer/teacher. . God bless you and may your ministry prosper in His name in 2018. Soli Deo Gloria.

Yes, it is a hobby for Father Peters and he has several hobby horses
that he likes to ride.

Your hobby is a benefit to many and we appreciate your teaching and insights as you apply the Word of God as confessed in the Book of Concord. Thank you. Your congregation is blessed and so are we. Keep up the good work.
