Biden's war on meat. . .

So I read where Biden's climate change proposals recommend reducing meat consumption to 4 pounds per year per person.  A quarter pounder a month.  Coming from one of those states where cattle outnumber people, I am even more at a loss for words.  I guess Nebraska is in for a greater population decline than anyone could have predicted!

The Beef States are in for a sad awakening if initiatives in some states catch on.  Apparently Oregon wants to prevent all slaughter of animals and limit meat production only to animals who die of natural causes.  Colorado has a proposal to require that animals be allowed to live out 25% of their natural lives before being slaughtered (natural being defined as 20 yrs for cows, 15 years for pigs, and 8 years for chickens).  But don't worry.  You can continue to kill babies in the womb whenever the notion strikes you.  Furthermore, both measures would prevent artificial insemination (again, humans exempted!).  Oh, my.  Some are insisting the castration of male animals no longer be allowed (but vasectomy is allowed to any bull who gives informed consent).

Hey, do you believe these will pass?  No?  Neither do I.  At least not yet.  The point of this is to show how far our culture will go in the conversation to protect animal lives and how little we will tolerate the consciences of those who object to the protection of human lives in the womb.  It is ridiculous and, worse, a sad indictment of our skewed values.

Life is cheap unless you are a cute furry calf or a squealing cute pig.  What will happen to America?  And people say religion is not necessary or essential?  The only way we come up with such foolishness is by ignoring what God has taught us.  The further away we banish God and His Word from our lives, the further these extreme voices will go in betraying the inherent values of life God instilled in us and sin corrupted.  God help us!!!

That claim by Fox News was not true, as "clarified" by America Reports anchor John Roberts.

The notion of reducing meat consumption comes from a January 13, 2020, report, "Implications of Future US Diet Scenarios on Greenhouse Gas Emissions," by Martin Heller, Gregory Keoleian, and Diego Rose for the Center for Sustainable Systems, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. The reports was supported by the Center for Biological Diversity, a leftist organization in Tuscon, AZ.

The 50% animal reduction and 90% beef reduction is part of Scenario 4. The report is based on the false assumption that "unprecedented reductions in greenhouse gas emissions are required by 2030 in order to keep warming to 1.5 degrees." The authors claim that any response to their report "can no longer afford to debate where reductions should occur but must come from all sectors of society and our economy."

The gaslighting by these global warming alamists (and their implied threats against anyone who questions their proposed actions) makes the printed report little more than an emergency substitute during the next TP shortage.

Apparently you thought this post was about meat. It was about the high value our culture places on every other life but that life in the womb. Whether Biden was really thinking of limiting beef to a quarter pounder per month per person is incidental to the fact that some are thinking in that direction while being the most ardent supporters of a selective value upon human life.

"Apparently you thought this post was about meat."

My earlier comment addressed the first paragraph's claim in the initial sentence, and did not imply that the rest of the post was about meat.

As for murder-by-abortion, a July 12, 2021, Christian Headlines news article, "New Texas Law 'Deputizes' Citizens to Sue Abortion Doctors, Clinics: 'Flood of Lawsuits' Coming," reports that the law, known as Senate Bill 8 and signed by Gov. Greg Abbott, prohibits abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected, which is around six weeks of pregnancy.

Citizens (especially Christians) can bring lawsuits against all involved in an abortion. A winning lawsuit would include an award of at least $10,000 for each illegal abortion.

Christians and other pro-life groups should encourage their state legislators to adopt similar laws.

Denny Burk, director of the Center for Gospel and Culture at Boyce College in Louisville, Ky, tweeted, "On this side of abolishing Roe this may be the ‘legal hack’ that could put an end to almost all abortions.”

Population control via any means is the agenda. It’s not about the meat we eat, it’s about the “meat” the left considers all humans to be. If they can’t accomplish their goals through abortion, then they will give puberty blocking drugs to children, or surgically mutilate those children so they can’t reproduce.

The inconsistencies and ironies of what they call their ideologies (idolatries would be a better word) are apparent if you think about the meat issue. If they are worried about climate change due to methane production from cattle (farting cows), wouldn’t it be better if we ate them, rather than leaving them to destroy the world?

I suppose informed consent on the part of a bull having a vasectomy would require them to allow the bull to live to at least 18, but a 7 year old human is informed enough to decide on complete, permanent mutilation of ‘their’ body.?
