The Random Thoughts of a Lutheran Parish Pastor
Guess who is laughing the loudest? The father of lies.
The "millennial nativity" is being displayed by the Bellevue, IL, Romanists [also culturally relevant... theologically suspect... and just plain wrong on so many levels...]"That is our hipster Nativity," says Monsignor John Myler, rector of the Cathedral of St. Peter in Belleville. The Nativity is just one of about 60 that will be on display in the “Nativities From Around the World” exhibit at the Cathedral of St. Peter through Tuesday."Each culture and each time assimilates the story of the birth of Christ to itself," said Myler, who oversees the display. "Not every Nativity set depicts the year 1 A.D. in Bethlehem. Some are in Renaissance clothing, some are in tribal clothing, and of course this year we have the hipsters. It’s the same idea."The Nativities come to the cathedral through a partnership with the University of Dayton’s Marian Library, which curates a collection of more than 3,500 Nativities from more than 100 countries.Excerpted from the December 8, 2017, St .Louis Post Dispatch article, "A hipster holy family? Out-of-the-ordinary Nativities on display at Belleville cathedral."That brought in some reader criticism reported in a December 17, 2017, Post-Dispatch article, "From the mailbag: Nativity scene reflects poorly on Catholic traditions."
I'm fully aware of the libtard insanity out there that's most troubling, but this is one we really should not take seriously. Frankly, I find it a bit funny, even though it's a sad indicator of our degraded state. It's the kind of image that can be turned against the enemy quite easily by pointing out its obvious vapidity. Albeit, even logic as simple as that too often gets you no where. Still, I think this one deserves only an eye roll and a yawn.
What’s with the woman’s wardrobe malfunction?Pssst... Someone explain to the ladies it’s possible that presenting yourself like that may contribute to sexual misconduct. Just sayin’.
And what does the hand signal represent of the woman (who doesn't look like she's recently given birth)?• The number, 2.• A Victory sign, especially by WWII Allies and in following years.• A Peace sign of counter-cultural and anti-Vietnam War groups.• V (the letter) from American Sign Language.• A popular gesture by Japanese youth when posing for photographs.
Who's piloting the quadcopter, and is it taking a video?
Where are the Christian Christmas cards? We finally got a Christmas card that is not a lame picture of some couple posing with their ugly kids. The "culturally relevant" nativity scene posted by Pastor Peters states it best: "Christmas is all about me."Carl, this would be an impossible thought in the LCMS, but this kind of behavior occurs on both the RCC and in the UMC without any consequences:https://www.ncronline.org/news/opinion/parish-priest-breaks-silence-shares-he-gay
Ha! I did not notice that before. That's not the Star of Bethlehem resting on the roof of the barn. It's a drone!
