Carl Schalk is a name that will long embrace the sphere of music in the life of the Church and certainly within our church body. In life, he was a humble and unassuming -- a demeanor that did not belie either his gifts or abilities. In death, his loss seems even larger to us as we make our way through the chaos of closed churches and the pandemic's fear. So it is good to take a moment to remember him through his music. This is what Concordia University, where he spent a goodly portion of his life, and Grace Lutheran Church have done. I thought it would be worth your time. It was mine.
